America and Republican Principles have always been about free trade. NAFTA became a rallying cry to the point that a person can’t get elected if they don’t pretend to hate it. We might need to rethink our strategy. As we have pulled back into our narrowminded isolationist huddle, China has moved to fill the void. Russia would like to do the same, but lacks the horsepower. Recently 15 countries signed the world’s largest free-trade agreement, we were not present. This agreement, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is bigger than the TTP, NAFTA, or the EU Trade Agreement, and involves up to 30% of the worlds GDP. Our natural resources, geography, and ability to trade are what made this country great. The bottom line is that America has only 4 percent of the world’s population. That means that 96 percent of the world is out there waiting to buy our stuff.
