What are we thinking? The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is not an account we draw on to buy votes. Prices are high because the world is at war. There is more demand than there is supply, and Big Oil and OPEC are getting rich at our expense. We need to educate voters and our political parties need to stop misleading us. It is easy to buy voters with giveaways, artificially low gas prices, student loan forgiveness…
Inflation is the result of our success, low unemployment, COVID stimulus money, and high demand for goods. The President, no president, can truly affect or should claim credit for economic conditions. There are multiple factors involved and changes can take years to produce an effect. Trump benefited from Obama’s actions. Biden is faulted for Trumps actions. What we really need to do is expedite LEGAL immigration, while preventing illegal immigration. We need to help the world, and ourselves by allowing Iran and Venezuela to sell their oil. And, we need to put people to work building next generation nuclear powerplants.
